#5 San Antonio Zoo   Situated along the San Antonio River and next to Brackenridge Park, this zoo is considered one of the finest in America, housing more than 3,500 animals representing more than 700 species. The recently renovated "big cat" exhibit draws big crowds, as does the bird collection, which is one of the largest in the United States.

#6  The Alamo  The importance of the Alamo is the history behind it. The Alamo  is a symbol that all American should be proud of, a symbol of the fight for liberty. It is one of the greatest icons of the Southwest region. The Alamo has a sanctified feeling, a place not to be missed in San Antonio.

#7 San Fernando Cathedral   Built by 15 families from the Canary Islands, it is the oldest cathedral sanctuary in the United and the oldest parish church in Texas, is incorporated into the magnificent Gothic revival-style cathedral built in 1868. Enjoy trawling on the river as you soak in all of the enchanting sights before you. This scenic riverboat cruise lasts about 30 minutes and truthfully, doesn't seem long enough.
